Castration Of Male Piglets

Hi Doc Nemo,
Good day. I just want to get your opinion, regarding the right age of male piglets subject to castration. If  the piglets is for fattener and then slaughter, what is the minimum and maximum
age of male piglets to be scheduled for castration?  Is there any conflict when the administration of vaccines or vitamins injection is the same day of castration? Thanks. Nick

Some castrate at 7 days some up to 14 days. I go for 10 days.

DOn't castrate and vaccinate.

You could castrate and give vitamins.

If you castrate and vaccinate the vaccine might not work.

nagcastrate kami ngayon lang. problema po kasi may isang piglet na 1 testicle lang. ung left side ang wala ung right side lang po ang nakuha. kinakapa ko po pero wla tlaga. tiningnan ko sa internet sabi hindi naman daw rare ang ganitong kaso.  sabi po kasi may naiwan daw na 1 testis somewhere in b/w the flanks na hindi nailabas naturally. den sabi din po dun sa nabasa ko hindi daw problema ang amoy kasi before daw mag-reach ang puberty ng ganitong biik ay ma-dispose na ito during market day.

tanong ko lang doc kung hindi b mkakaapekto sa meat quality during market day approx. 5mos. baka kasi mangamoy magrereklamo ang buyer. tnx po

ang nang yayari kasi yun hindi lumabas na testicle malamang hindi mag develop kaya wala din amoy. pero wait po nila before 30days minsan kasi bago mag walay biglang lalabas yan, kapunin na lang po nila kapg lumabas
