Good day!

May 1 sow ako na namaga yung kanang paa at diko alam ang dahilan, pero nakakatayo naman wala rin akong makitang sugat kaso hirap siyang ilakad o itapak yung kanang paa nya.

Gusto ko lang po malaman kung ano ang dapat na igamot dito para mawala yung pamamaga at makalakad ulit ng maayos. Puede rin po ba itong igamot sa biik na parang napilay?

If the sow is not pregnant you can give dexamethasone this is for the inflamation of leg.

If the animal is pregnant i will suggest to give  additional calcium source like cecical.  Vitamins would also help

If the condition of the animal becomes worst then give antibiotik like amoxicillin

Hi Doc,
Rememeber my largewhite boar that is having a "pigsa" ? Now we have an additional
problem. After giving the boar "amoxtin soluble" last Saturday( 4/26/08) for the "pigsa",
this morning mycaretaker txted me that the boar manure is mixed brown / black and
eat only few without consuming his ration of 1kg. feeds. During  noontime his manure
is having mixed with blood. They consulted a municipal veterinarian and they injected "biodyl".
At bukas bigyan daw ito ng "dextrose powder at tiamulin injection".
Ano kaya ang sakit ng boar Doc? May mga suggestions ka ba? Bukas maaga pa me punta
doon sa farm. The boar has no warranty from Holiday Hills ng binili ko ito.

doxycyline+tiamulin is good combination.

You could also give additional iron supplement for the boar.

Some disease that might cause bloody scour is salmonella, ilietis, whip worm etc and the most severe is swine dysentery.

Usual suspect is swine dysentery, you need to isolate the animal and the caretaker from the other pigs. If you have 2 caretaker designate a caretaker that will handle the boar alone and he/she must not handle the other pigs.

You also need to give oral antibiotic for the whole herd everyday until the boar recover.

b. Yung "iron supplement" ba water soluble or injection? If injection puede din isabay sa
    doxycyline+tiamulin?

c. Ok lang ba na bigyan ng oral antibiotic ang mga gilts na katatapos lang breed
    2-3 weeks ago?

Salamat ulit Doc at unti-unti na naka recover ang boar. Doc, ask ko lang, kasi ang dalawang F1 ko ay nag
second reheat na April 28 at May 2, respectively. Now, we are counting again 21 days at ipa-
service ito for breeding. Puede na ba namin gamitin ang boar? Tentatively on May 20 and May 23
pag nag true heat ang dalawang F1?

Not adviseable to use your boar especially it is still recovering and it might infect the gilt if you use it as a breeding boar.

Gud pm doc, may pilay ho ung gilts ko pero one week pa lang sya nabulog,ano ho kaya ang pwede kong i gamot?

Give vitamins muna and calcium. Avoid na mabulabog ang animal.
