Dear Doc,
Ask ko lang if this practices are effective in breeding of piglets.
1. After mating the gilt or sow, dapat daw no feeds is given on this day.
Feeds will be given on the following day.
2. Only 1 kilo of feed is given to the pregnant gilt or sow until it farrows.
For the reasons that if the pregnant gilt or sow is given more than 1 kilo
per day the development of unborn piglets are bigger at hirap ang inahin
ilabas o ipanganak ang mga piglets which you have to make dukot na.
How true are these Doc? Considering Im still a newbie in this business.

1. You could give feeds but not as much as it usually have. Example if before breeding they eat 2.5 kgs
after breeding you could give only 2 kgs. This would be the case for the next 7-14 days.

2. At every step of pregnacy there would be corresponding feed intake requirement.

Every feed company have different suggestion.

This is a sample feeding guide from one company.

1-21 days pregnant = 1.8 -2.0 kg
22-86 days pregnant = 2.0-2.2 kg
87-112 days pregnant = 2.4 -2.6
113-hanggang manganak babaan ang feed intake.

After mamate less lang ang ipapakain.

Lactation is given usually around 86 days pregnant na ito, as per recommendation of most feed manufacturer.

Doc Nemo,

Ano po ba usually ang problem if two consecutive pregnancy, may still birth. What can you advice us?

This diseases kasi could cause pregnancy problem sa kanilang inahin.

Sir base po ito sa recommendation ng feed manufacturer, pero in your own case, or may i say in your experience, sinusunod nio po ung 86 days?
