Mr Hog,saw your video, really cool, heard your rooster in the background, your barn is much more open than ours, ours on the sides is all bamboo, vertical close together, think yours is a little better set up,ours is 8x 8 pens divided,3 pigs in each one,in each section 28 x 32 we had 30 hogs.with large water tanks for easy cleaning,we do not have as much metal as you have,do not understand what those orange holders are.

Mr mikey those orange things are for the feeds we put the right amount of feed in each holder. Its like a leaver system they will go down all at the same time.Alot less work that way and also the correct amount of feeds are given with no waste.

Mr. Hog correct me if im wrong your farm is ready to accommodate around 80 sows?

Having the lever system is good for your sow. in some farm they feed their sow manually the tendency  sow become agitated because they are waiting for their food to be delivered. This cause stress and may affect the pregnancy of the sow.

Using the lever system you just need to pull or bring down the lever then all the sow could eat at the same time. And while they are eating you will just refill the receptacle/orange pvc so it would be ready for the next feeding time.

Dr nemo yes thats are new side good for 80 sows you are so right they sure get stressed when other pigs get there feed and they dont thats why we have that system. Now I am thinking thats why we had many still berths latly because of all the workers there building those new pens.Dr nemo could this be true?Thats what my brother in laws wife try to tell us I thought could this be true? You see to the left of the movie thats where the bannana plantion is and now you can see the problem I could have.

Yes, it is possible that because of the construction you have many still born. The sounds/noise made by construction may agitated them.

Still born means that your sows have a problem in the last part of its pregnancy. SO, if the construction started about a month or  a month and half before your sow farrowed then the likelyhood that it is the cause increases.

If you have mummified piglets it means that the problem arises in the 2nd trimester of the pregnancy or in the 2nd month of the pregnancy.

If you have a sow that farrowed 5 piglets it means that the sow encountered a problem in the first month of pregnancy.

Also to add if they weld using electric welding machine and connect the ground part to the metal, small current will travel throughout the gestating pen on which if there is a sow on the opposite side no matter how many gestating pen apart they are the small current might affect the piglet inside.

Mr. Hog, very nice set-up you have there sir. May I know if you don't mind me asking, how much would it cost to build a facilty like that. Would you be able to send me a copy of the construction plan especially the feeders (Orange PVC). Thanks.
