Using Duroc Boar

doc nemo, gumamit ako ng duroc boar (reddish brown) over sa landrace sow ko. ng manganak ang sow ko puro puting biik ang lumabas. nirentahan ko lang po ung duroc boar sa magbubulog. im just curios kase expected ko me kulay ang mga biik at least dotted man lang. normal lang ba ang ganito o mahinang duroc ang narent ko? any idea doc?

it is possible.

We often see duroc + landrace = white piglet and brown piglets.

If we read books about swine genetics it would say that white color is dominant compared to colored color.

If you have pure white breed animal then mix it with a pure duroc it will result in an all white piglets.

But if you have hybrid white animal then mix it with a pure duroc there would be piglets which is colored and white.

ganon po ba. meron naman po akong isa pang sow na hinihintay farrowing date this march. F1 duroc-pietrain  po ung sow then the same boar po ung ginamit ko na duroc. possible na ba dito ang may mga kulay?salamat po ng marami

Yup, in this case possible na meron colored animal na mag appear

nangari po sa akin yun wala man lang trace na duroc ang mga biik ko while duroc ang ni request ko gamitin sa pag AI nag doubt po tuloy ako sa technician....
