I'm planning to raise the goats in Lipa, Batangas. You may have already heard, coffee trees are abundant in Lipa, especially in our area, our relatives make some money from those trees.

Also, my father told me that goats tend to destroy(?) small plants/shrubs, is this true? We have pepper plants in the raw land, too and I don't want them to be destroyed, I might need to make more fences to protect them.

cjap10,hi,yes goats eat everything in sight,you will need to protect those plants you do not want the goats to eat,a strong fence.Your other choice is to confine the goats and use the cut and carry feeding system.The  main problem I have seen with this system is alot of farmers feed too little feedstufs to their stock,a goat requires 10% of its body weight in roughage,daily.plus their protein.

Thanks for the info, mikey. Hmmn, cut and carry is not an option for me now, I guess I might do them in the rainy season when goats need to be confined in their house.

cjap10,hi,yes if your land has crops planted on it,goats cannot roam around,they will eat everything in sight,will cost you alot in loss income.Confinement is your only option.I am not sure where your place is,coffee is commonly grown at your place.
