This is what I have posted on my Facebook account (on my notes)
PSEUDORABIES (Aujezky's Disease)
Pseudorabies PR is an infectious disease of many animal species such as cattle, pigs, dogs, cats and etc. The disease is caused by a Herpesvirus. The primary host of PRV is the pigs. The pig is the only species able to survive after a productive infection and therefore serves as the reservoir host. There are about 16% of clinically normal pregnant sows shed the latent PRV in their nasal secretions, which is the sources of infection in the farms.
