Determining the Age of a Goat:
« on: November 25, 2007, 03:03:45 AM »
A goat has no teeth in the upper front of its mouth, but it has eight teeth in the lower jaw.The size and condition of these eight teeth is the best gauge to determine the goats age.A goat is born with 8 baby teeth in the lower front gum.All 8 teeth are similarly small sized. When the goat approaches a year of age, give or take a few months, the 2 center front baby teeth are replaced by 2 permanent teeth.

Summary:
1 years old-2 permanent teeth (2 toother)
2 years old-4 permanent teeth (4toother)
3 years old-6 permanent teeth (6 toother)
4 years old-8 permanent teeth (8 toother)
Older than 4 years of age, pretty much a guess.
