Doc,can you explain to me what is base mix.Our hog chow supplier is Purina,they may sell a base mix.My understandind is,one mixes the base with other feedstuffs to make ones own hog chow.

Yes you need to mix it with other protein and carbohydrates to make your chow. Usually they have a recommended mix for every stage.

You need to ask them their recommended mix for every stage. and i think you also need to add vitamins and amino acid to attain a better mix.

Basemix po...you still have to add carbohydrates which will be coming from corn, wheat..then protein - soya us/argentina, fishmeal, fat=coconut oil or powdered fat or used oil then fiber sources like ricebran, copra meal.., the basemix already contains the vitamins and mineral, growth promotant like enzyme, probiotics, acidifiers...ask niyo lang po supplier anu ano laman ng basemix nila...then dapat me mixer po kayo para mas maganda mixability ng feeds niyo mas halong halo ang mga nutrients..mas magiging maganda performance ng feeds...

is this the same po ba sa BLENDINA CONCENTRATE ng PURINA?? ano po ba pinagkaiba ng base Mix at BLENDINA CONCENTRATE?? available po ba ito sa mga agrivet supplies or do we need to buy them direct from the feed companies?

i do believe na same lang sila... generic lang and branded lang yun isa.

actually medyo gray area sa akin ang difference ng base mix and hog concentrate. in the end of the day kasi you need pa rin a good formulator/nutrionist para maging maganda ang mix mo using these products.
