Title: What is the native Philippine goat breed called?
Post by: bhodges on September 30, 2012, 11:05:22 AM
Hello - this is an interesting forum. I was wondering if anyone could tell me what the native Philippine goat is called? I have a non-commercial educational website and someone did a review for this native goat crossed with Boer - http://www.rightpet.com/ratingoflivestock-poultry/boer-goat/1560

I would like to create a new listing for the native goat, but am having a hard time figuring out its name, or characteristics. Many thanks, Bret

Doc is right,a native is a native until its crossed with another breed.Say you cross a native doe with a boer buck. This results in a first generation up-graded or graded up F1 -50% boer,50% off the sires side and 50% off the dams side.
