Dear Doc,
If we breed the gilt aged 7-8 months old and  we did not complete the vaccination program
introduce for the gilt before her breed? Do we have to stop then follow the pregnancy

In terms of pregnancy vaccination, email me the particular vaccination where you stop in the gilt and let's see what adjustment we could do or if we could just continue the pregnancy vaccination.

Hi Doc Nemo,

Sorry, I posted 2 topics on the forum. It is on the Flushing of Gilts and Vaccination Program
when it can be covered by 1 topic only.

The landrace gilt arrived in the farm last March 25,2008. We have given already the following:
March 25 - Electrotyles Water soluble powder
March 26 - Pseudorabies Vaccine
March 29 - Deworming ( Ivermectin)
April 02   - (Tentative)- Hog Cholera and soon ....
But Gilt  comes to First Heat last Friday ( March 28) and after 21 days it will be her 2nd Heat.
What shall we do Doc? Thanks.

You could do this schedule
Apr 2 Hog cholera
April 9 pseudo
April 14 parvo
April 19 tentative breeding date

FMD is omitted. If there is a case within your area in the last 3 months you need to vaccinate.

Continue with the original pregnant and lactating schedule.

Doc Nemo, usually ilang dosage ba ang kailangan i administer sa gilt/boar (2ml, 3ml)? i mean mga replacement gilts/boars.

It depends on the recommendation of the manufacturer.
 
If it says 20 ml, 10 doses it means 2 ml of the vaccine shall be given per animal.

Example

Pestiffa( Merial) is 2 ml per animal (they have 20 ml, 10 dose)

Aftopor(Merial) is 1 ml per animal (50 ml, 50 doses)

Farrowsure(pfizer) is 5 ml per animal(50 ml, 10 dose)

REspisure(pfiser) is 2 ml per animal (20 ml 10 dose)

So far i have heard of vaccine with the following dosage 0.5 ml, 1 ml, 2ml, and 10 ml but i have never encounter 3 ml.

Doc Nemo, magandang araw po! Ako po ay nagsisimula pa lang sa pagaalaga ng inahin. Almost 7 months na po ang dalawang gilts ko na binili mula sa isang tiyuhin na backyard raiser. Malaki at maganda naman po ang pangangatawan nila sabi ng mga nakakakita dito. Galing po sila sa F1 Landrace na ipinabulog sa Large White. Latigo1000 at Ivemetrin pa lang po ang tanging naibigay ko sa kanila simula ng iwalay sa inahin (bukod sa Teramycin-LA na ibinigay ng technician sa isa nung bumagyo sa aming lugar). Ano po bang suggested nyo na mga vaccines or vit supplements ang dapat na naibigay ko na sa kanila o pwede pang ibigay sa ganitong stage bago sila ipa-AI upang makabenepisyo sa kanilang pagbubuntis? Kahapon po ay may senyales na nang pagHeat ang isa. Kailangan ko po bang alamin kung anong vaccines ang ibinigay sa kanila before weaning? This is regarding sa Hog Cholera Vaccination for Piglets.
Na confuse lang ako sa pag gamit kung how many ml ba ang iturok sa mga biik
na hindi pa nawalay?
For example ang edad ng biik ay 23 days old at ang available
ko na vaccine ay Pestivac 10 ml. dapat ba ay 1 ml lang ang iturok at ang booster shot
after 2-3 weeks  ay 1 ml din ? Paano naman kong meron akong Pestivac 20ml, di 2ml ang turok
at booster din na 2 ml ? Ganun po ba at wala ba ito overdose ?
Magkaiba po ba ang dosage ng iba pang HCV Brand ?

usually po sa hog cholera is 2 ml per animal. At ang regular packaging nito ay for 10 animals, 25 animals and 50 animals or 20 ml, 50 ml and 100 ml.

So incase na nakakuha sila ng bakuna for hog cholera na 10 ml lang, it means na this is for 10 animals, 1ml per animal,  unless stated sa kanilang label na this is for 5 animals only.

Yes same lang po ang booster nila 2 ml din.

Wala pong overdose ang bakuna. Hindi kasi ito antibiotic.

Although meron cases na allergic reaction sa bakuna na kung saan mukha siyang naoverdose, nagsusuka, nanginginig, namumula etc..

For an 80 days pregnant sow , is safe to inject Pseudorabies 2.0 ml ?
Then at 85 days of pregnancy, I'm injecting Jectran Advance.

Usually at that stage much safer na.

To be sure always check at the back label ng bakuna. May bakuna kasi na ang suggestion is last trimester of the pregnancy. some vaccine is okay throughout the pregnancy.

But usually to be safe , last trimester .

Ang vaccination program sa Gilt and Sow na pinadala mo sa akin ang sinusunod ko. May mga variations
lang sa date depende sa panahon ng tag ulan. Also I inserted some Vitamins, but I see to it na may
pagitan ng 3-5 days bawat injection ng Vaccines at Vitamins.
Ang Belamyl ba puede ibigay sa mga pregnant sows at 80 days of pregnancy and above ?
Or  okay na ang Jectran Advance as a vitamins ?

You need to give booster. Hindi kasi full potential ang naibigay mo na bakuna so may tendency na hindi ito mag effect.

1. Pag naka vaccinate ka na ng initial hog cholera, ilang araw ba ang pagitan bago mag vaccinate ng booster ?
2. Ano po kaya ang mangyari sa health of piglets pag di sinunod ang number of days na pagitan between

1. 2-3 weeks depended sa recommendation ng manufacturer.
2. In terms of health wala naman bad effect ito, In terms of protection lang mas magiging less protective lang yun bakuna.

Hindi naman siya makakasama, it is just a question of practicality na lang. 3-4 months na siya ang 1 buwan nalang benta na siya assuming na fattener siya. then tatalab ang bakuna around 2 weeks pa.

Ideally masmaganda kung susundin mo sila. Kung sakali naman gusto mong mag adjust you could make the e coli yearly. yung prv and hcv every time na magbubuntis sila talagang binibigay ito dahil mataas ang mortality sa mga sakit na nabanggit so, better to prevent it n lang rather than to cure.

ok lang po magsabay ang iron at bakuna basta hindi same side ang saksak nito. Kung sa kaliwa kyo nagsaksak ng bakuna sa kanan naman ang iron. ALso as much as possible magkaibang syringe and needle ang kanilang gagamitin.
