hoping that the Bureau of Agricultural Statistics review their pig population matrix and i think their matrix is a little bit outdated already and how they get their sample field data...just to consider that pig population in Calabarzon accounts to 1.6 M hogs...i know a farm in Rizal having a sow population of around 20T with at least a total population of around 200,000 pigs for just one farm.....

From what I understand, farms of any livestock in the Philiipines, based on what is called sample farms, printed data is taken from sample farms.I have wondered myself, there must be more livestock, then the printed data reads.I was reading the Govt. reports, commercial farms are on the rise, but said nothing about the backyard farms.Common knowledge, there are more backyard farms than the commercial farms.Interesting, very poor system for collecting information.

Actually this is a problem in our government. Inter agency collaboration is not that efficient.
Sometimes you wonder that there are to many agencies, department etc that have overlapping function and yet still they cannot provide basic information and services.

well, the Bureau of Agricultural Statistics need not survey or make sample survey of the animal population of each sample area....all they have to do is to get those information from the Municipal Agricultural Office of each cities and municipalities and compile them to get the real picture of the animal population, and not extrapolating them...i have contacted some municipal agri officers and they have the information on animal population, on a monthly basis...

only if animals are recorded,at our place ,the Local Govt. has recorded the hogs and goats, but not our cattle. How many other farms have not had their livestock counted. If livestock are not counted then the numbers are incorrect when published by the Dept. Of Agriculture.
Having a hard time understanding such a system.
