dr nemo,

Smiley Smiley Smiley

Consumption for 1 pig
Assuming 1,200 is prestarter(25kg) =48/kg * 9.5 kg (feed the animal will eat ) = 456
assuming starter is 1170 (50kg) =23.4/kg * 25 kg (feed the animal will eat) =      585
assuming grower is 1100 (50kg) = 22/kg * 96 kg (feed the animal will eat)=     2,112
assuming finisher is 1,050 (50/kg)= 21/kg * 50 kg (feed the animal will eat) =    1,050
                                                                                           total =     4,203
                                                                                      price of piglet 2,000
Total 6,203/85 (final weight)  =P 72.09 break even price

4,203 x 5= 21,015 total feed cost
2,000 x 5=  10,000 total price of pigs
 =                1,500 initial for  housing
              32,515 total investment

The price of the feed is just an assumption. every area have different price and liveweight. The liveweight price in your area should not be below 72.o9 . The "feed the animal will eat " is based on a brochure of a feed company. Better ask your feed dealer to give you a feeding guide.

(total weight of all animal  times liveweight price) minus total investment = income divided by 2

85 kg *5 pig =  425 kg *87 pesos/kg =36 975 pesos - 32,515 = 4460 /2 =  2, 230

Your investment of 32,515 pesos made a 4,460  return/profit or about 13.71 % in just 4-5 months.

Putting your money in the bank will earn you around 3-5% per year and the inflation rate is about 6% so, in essence your money in the bank is depreciating 1-3% per year.
