Dok, May 1.5 hec farm ako. Dati madami din ako baboy, pero 2x ko tinayo, and 2x ko semplang. hehe.. . this time, medyo naisip ko, caretaker ko may problema. So I decided na ituloy ulit for the 3rd time. Sabi nga eh, no guts no glory!! Baka pwede makahingi din doc ng article... and a little advice pls...
. San ba maganda mag start ako? Buy ako gilts? or buy muna ko mga biik? dati kasi bumili agad ako ng 20 dumalaga eh. ayun... wala nangyari, sabi ko nga sayo sa tingin ko sa caretaker ko. busy kasi ko eh. pero this time, tutukan ko na talaga. Pinaalis ko na dati ko taga alaga. Tingin mo doc? Buy muna ko mga biik para mapagaralan ng husto muna? parang start small muna ko? thanks dok in advance...
ps. Article doc ha.

I have already emailed you the article.
Start muna po sila sa mga biik para masanay ang kanilang caretaker sa mga baboy. Start small, think big.
Then after one harvest/bentahan ng baboy at sanay na ang inyong caretaker sa mga baboy ay mag start na sila sa inahin. Dahan dahan ang bili ng inahin. Kung target nyo is 20 sow, then every month buy lang sila ng 5 sow until macomplete nila yun 20 sow level. This is to give way sa magandang rotation ng production and to maximize yun budget.

Ask the seller if he /she have already given vaccine to the animal like hog cholera and mycoplasma.
If he/she says that it already have a hog cholera and mycoplasma vaccine then you will only give hog cholera as booster to the piglet. First you need to give water soluble vitamins to the animal 5-7 days upon arrival. Then you can give the vaccine at the 7-14 days (from the arrival). Be sure that the animal is already stress free/healthy or already accustomed to your farm before given the vaccine.
This the advantage of hoping your own sow you can be sure that the animal is already vaccinated and really healthy.

Bakuna for pneumonia is mycoplasma and also APP.
Although mas gamit ang mycoplasma.
Pneumonia could be also cause by overcrowding and unclean area, changes in the weather condition.
Mycoplasma is usually given at the piglet stage before weaning.

Hi Nemo!
Very interesting and helpful website you have !
Could you please send me a copy of your articles on swine production as well as sow management? I am new in this business, starting off fresh and would want to learn more. If you too could send me some numbers (FEASIBILITY STUDIES) on these topics, I would certainly be very grateful.
Thank you so much and more power!!!
