Hi all Have any of you hog farmers figured whats your profit for live weight per kg?after all your feeds meds electric labour are done?I know feeds cost are different in all places in the phills. But whats the adverage 5-10 pecos a kg?I think this hog bizniz in the phills is a volume game.If you had a large amount of money for the feeds you could make alot of money in this hog bizniz.

average in bulacan for backyard is 10-20 pesos per kg.
Yeah like any other business it is a volume game.

Yes doc volume is the key.if one had 100 fatteners after all is said and done the farmer would make at the low point he would make 80,000 am I right?thats if all hogs raised to 80 kg at a 10 peso profit. That would be way above the adverage income for a filipino worker. If you had a large farm and your management skills where very good you could make alot.If you had a 100 sow operation 1000 piglets every 4 months that would be 800,000 thousand profit is my math wrong?thats at 10 peso per kg live weight profit.ok lets minus that some more 5 peso kg still 400,000 profit

if you have a 100 sow it means you will have 150 pigs per month for slaughter(minimum). At this level the minimum profit would be/should be at 20 per kg.
150*85kg*20=255,000 per month

My computation is high because it is base in bulacan.
Like you said your price is only around 65 per liveweight then profit per kg would only range from 2-10 pesos at the most with that kind of liveweight.

hey doc they said the cost to raise 10 fatteners to 80-85 kg is around 35,000 so at 85 kg we sell them at 5525 each sound right?

Something like that assuming that each pig will eat 3500 worth of feed + cost of piglet say 1500 then it is 5000 pesos minus 5525= 525 net per pig.

Good for you. Swine business life relay mainly in the piglet production aspect. If you produce your own piglet then you will have a steady supply of hogs.

Yeah, swine in bulacan is profitable the only drawback is that spread of disease is also fast.
Swine farm and backyards are always in close proximity from one another. So, if one farm is hit by a disease chances are it will spread also into the backyard level.

kaya pala 100 sows = 150 fattener sa bulacan ave na ba ito in 1 year? hindi nga namin makaya yan dito sa mindanao. ibig sabihin niyan mababa ang mortality rate ng bulacan.

a 100 sow farm will produce 150 fatteners per month. yeah average na yan or 1800 pig per year.
Mortality less than 10% sa piglets/nursing
and less than 6 percent sa fattening stage.
