Title: newbie in the business... needs a lot of your help Post by: darla214 on August 13, 2011, 04:13:02 PM ello po good day,
im darla po from cebu,i saw your site through browsing the net and it was great and very interesting since i am currently into hog raising. actually, i already had 6 pigs which i was able to sell last july 30. and now i am planning to raise 8 pigs (depends on the availability of the piglets). i would want to seek for your advise as to what feeds you consider good and realible? what is the frequency and amount of feeds to be given to the pigs? and what is the time frame of each feeds? coz i was quite disappointed bout our first because we lose like 8 thousand... our pigs were not so good in terms of the weight our biggest was just 57kilos and 47kilos was our smallest yet they seemed to be bigger and heavier than we thought. we were using UNIFEEDS and estimated feeds per pig was 2.5 bags for 3 months... please help us revive and survive this kind of business coz i find it very fun and relaxing as i would be able to see our pigs grow... thanks alot in advance. and also doc, could you possibly give me some information/ contact numbers of hog farms here in cebu. if you may.. and could i last ask what's fs? coz everybody seems to ask you that. could i also possible have it? hehehe alrad_eam28@yahoo.com thank you soo much doc.. more power Title: mhelzean Post by: mhelzean on August 13, 2011, 06:20:52 PM hi gud eve! im mhel from oriental mindoro. In terms of feeds kasi i would advise na buy the feed that is more "sikat" in your area. Choose from the top three. They have that reputation in your area because they proven their worth.... Usually a pig will eat 4-5 sacks of feeds from birth onwards. In your case it is just around 2.5 bags? When you buy feeds ask your dealer for a feeding guide so you could have an idea. or sample feeding guide check this swine feeding guide (http://pinoyagribusiness.com/forum/swine/proper_feeding-t137.0.html) |
