Title: Lahi ng inahinin Post by: johntrix on August 06, 2008, 10:27:41 PM doc bumili ako ng inahinin na 4 months old na. ang sabi sa aking lahi nito ay indian-indian - meron ba nong lahi? ano pong masasabi sa lahing ganito? thanks po ulit.
Title: Re: Lahi ng inahinin Post by: nemo on August 07, 2008, 12:09:43 AM I have never heard of an indian -indian breed, ala akong alam na breed na ganito. And if it is 4 months pa lang, its category is still fattener. If around 6 month then it can be called as a gilt if intended to be a breeding pig.

Title: Re: Lahi ng inahinin Post by: johntrix on August 10, 2008, 10:29:54 AM also doc i read from the forum na:
Usually the basic idea is most white's are good mother while most colored is a good boar. White: landrace, large white colored: pietrain, duroc, Cross Breeding: PURE LANDRACE x PURE LARGEWHITE = F1 Cross Breeding: F1 x Pure Duroc/Pietrain = Triple Cross Pigs (Good Only for Slaughter not for breeding) Now ano na po ang tawag if ang cross breeding ay: F1 x PURE LANDRACE / PURE LARGEWHITE = ? I might as well sell this then. thanks again doc Title: Re: Lahi ng inahinin Post by: nemo on August 12, 2008, 09:15:50 PM also doc i read from the forum na: Now ano na po ang tawag if ang cross breeding ay: F1 x PURE LANDRACE / PURE LARGEWHITE = ? If whether okay siyang maging inahin it all depends on the data or character na meron yun anak. Usually it suggested to buy gilts from breeding farm because these are already tested as good gilts compared to those taken from the backyard. Title: Re: Lahi ng inahinin Post by: johntrix on August 12, 2008, 10:56:26 PM when i was viewing your picture gallery in swine breed category. it crosses my mind doc if it's posible ba na malalaman na puro ang lahi ng isang baboy by just looking at it? it's possible kase that you can be conned by farms or hog sellers by saying it's a pure breed when you go choosing for a good gilt. sa picture na nakapost doc, technically po ba duroc is plain brown reddish color at kapag nahaluan na sya ng dots/spots then it can be a crossbreed with pietrain so we call it "duroc pietrain" tama po ba? im just curious sa way ng breed naming. if it's crossbreed sa 2 magkaibang purong lahi, ang mga biik nito are called F1 and so forth.in swine breeding ba can you personalize a breed name or just call it F1 to generalise?
Title: Re: Lahi ng inahinin Post by: nemo on August 14, 2008, 02:58:26 PM You cannot know if it is pure or not by just looking at it. That is way it is always advised to buy from reputable company.
In duroc it is usually brown in color. If it has small dark spot then it could be still pure durok but if the spot is abig as those you could see in pietrain possible that it was crossed to a pietrain. If you have to white animal crossed together and the offspring is not all white, there is a possibility that one of the parent have a mixed blood line(largewhite+pietrain, largewhite +duroc etc.) Naming of the animal, importance is given to the name of the boar. Big companies can personalize the breed name ex. meatmaster, jrs, etc as long as they can produce the same genetics over and over again. |
