Gilt(around 6 months of age)

1. From 1st heat count 21 days, this would be the tentative date of the second heat.
2. At the  2nd heat count 11 days, this is the tentative date of flushing.
flushing= giving more food for the development of the egg cells.Increase the feed of the gilt, maybe
around 3 kgs per day (Check your feed manufacturer suggestion)
3. 21 days after the 2nd heat check if the animal is in heat.
Sign: Reddening of vulva, unrestlessness, frequent urination, noisy etc.
4. Check for standing heat(usually 2-3 days after first sign of heat)(checking should be done every hour if
possible) Apply back pressure in the rump area / hindquarters area  .if the animal just stay it means it
       in standing heat.
5. If the animal is in standing heat then it is ready to be breed. If you observed the heat in the morning
then you could bred it in the afternoon (12 hr ). Personally, if i see the animal in heat i would suggest
      to breed it already.
6. Some lessen the feed intake of the animal in the first 2 weeks. If the feed intake before flushing is 2.2
kgs some would give 1.5-2 kg in the first 2 weeks of pregnancy. Personally i do not practice this/
    suggest this.
7. Check your feed manufacturer's suggestion in terms of feeding a gestating sow.
8. Check the animal if it returns to heat at the 21 day and 42 days of pregnancy. If the animal shows sign
of heat it means it is a reheat.
9 After 114 days it should give birth. It could be 5 days early or 5 days delayed at most.

Vaccine depends on the prevalence of the disease in your locality. Ask your local vet for suggestions. If you think i forgot something please feel free to add to this. Thank you.

Afsillin is a multivitamin while cecical is a calcium additive.

Cecical is used to prevent osteoporosis or soft bone in sows. And also if there is pamimilay of the sow.

Technically speaking most commercial feeds have the necessary  vitamins and calcium that the animal need.

Your cost to produce might go up if you will give them vitamins and calcium supplement  everyday.

There is no wrong in giving vitamins everyday it is just a matter of economics.

During the days that i am still connected in a feed company we do not suggest to give multivitamins.

We just suggest multivitamins if there is sudden change in the weather or there are outbreak or sick animals around the vicinity.

If you trust your feed i will suggest that do not give everyday vitamins. If you like you could give in a monthly basis.

Why not try to stress your animal nalang if you don't want to give hormone. Limit its feed intake for around 2-3 days maybe. Give 1-1.5 kgs per day only. and see if it will heat.

The percentage of the animal that will have few piglets is just small.

If in doubt ka, try to consult your local vet so he/she could assess/ give  the best solution for your animal.

30 days is too long... it will affect the overall performance of your farm.

It is ok, the only problem would be if you have more than 14-15 piglets for sure di maka dedede yun iba.

Tylosin is an antibiotic.

Para sa pilay you can use anti inflammatory drugs assuming na swollen ang leg nito.
