Hi Doc, very interesting website. Thanks to you, I have some idea on what to expect from pig farming. I would like a copy of the FS if its possible, please send it to jumo777@tgmail.com

BTW, do we have any local website that shows who are the interested buyers of piglets or pigs? Like a agri trade website, where people buy and sell stuff  Smiley

Thanks in advance.

We do not have such website na exclusive for selling or buying livestock. THis forum have a buy and sell section / advertisement... you could post nalang dun kung meron kang ibebenta or  gustong bilhin.

Hi, Doc. I need your help. Gusto kong magtayo ng 10-sow facility. Meron akong nabasa sa isang thread that for 10 sows, one needs 3 farrowing cages, 7 gestating pens, and 6 fattener pens. My questions:

   a. Sufficient ba ang above number of cages and pens kung balak kong bumili ng two 6-month old gilts during the first week of each month?
   b. Do the gilts go straight to the farrowing and gestating cages upon arrival? Kasi parang very restricted sila eh hindi pa naman buntis.

I currently have 70 finishers, my first batch ever, at gusto kong mag-diversify ng konti, especially ngayong nabalitaan ko na napakahirap daw maghanap ng piglets ngayong buwan na ito, possibly next month also. Having my own sows will hopefully give me another source for piglets, and not depend completely on other people.

Doc Nemo, may I request for a copy the FS on Hog Raising? I plan to start with five SOWS and expand it from there. My plan is the 90 % of piglets as fatteners and retain 20% as my breeder stock.

Also, I would appreciate your important tips for begginers.

Thanks!
