***Report format change: Traditional markets refer to lambs that are
subjected to USDA carcass grading, and marketed through mainstream outlets.
Non-Traditional markets refer to lambs destined for slaughter outside of what
would be termed as traditional markets. ***
Sheep and Lambs: When compared to last week's sale slaughter lambs sold very
firm. Heavier weight lambs weighing over 100 lbs were sharply higher, up to
40.00 higher. Ewes sold steady to 5.00 higher. Demand good with active trade.
Slaughter supply consisted of 86 percent lambs, 8 percent slaughter ewes, and
6 percent miscellaneous stock. All sheep and lambs are destined for non-
traditional markets. All sheep and lambs are sold by the hundred weight, on
actual weights.

subjected to USDA carcass grading, and marketed through mainstream outlets.
Non-Traditional markets refer to lambs destined for slaughter outside of what
would be termed as traditional markets. ***
Sheep and Lambs: When compared to last week's sale, a larger percentage of
lower quality lambs were on offer and sold weak. Lambs weighing less than 80
lbs were mostly 20.00 lower while lambs weighing over 80 lbs were 10.00-15.00
lower. Ewes sold mostly steady. Demand was light with moderate trade.
Slaughter supply consisted of 76 percent lambs, 12 percent slaughter ewes,
and 12 percent miscellaneous stock. All sheep and lambs are destined for non-
traditional markets. All sheep and lambs are sold by the hundred weight, on
actual weights.

Compared to last week heavy slaughter lambs not well tested; light
slaughter lambs sharply lower. Slaughter ewes 2.00-5.00 lower. Feeder
lambs 5.00-10.00 lower. Nannies firm; kids weak to 10.00 lower. Trading
and demand moderate for rain shortened supply. Supply included 25
percent slaughter lambs, 25 percent slaughter ewes, 5 percent feeder
lambs, balance goats. All slaughter lambs went to non-traditional
markets. All sheep and goats sold per hundred weight (CWT) unless
otherwise specified.
SLAUGHTER LAMBS:
Choice 2-3 shorn and wooled 100-130 lbs 120.00-125.00.
Choice and Prime 1 40-60 lbs 152.00-168.00; 60-70 lbs 145.00-158.00;
