I just want to confirm why Pig buyers in Bacolod never practiced this method of Live weight buying instead they are making it mata mata (Estimate). I am a small time back yard fatteners. I have 10 fatteners and ready to be dispose with in this month but sad to say today this unscrupulous buyers (butchers) (not runners) went to our farm and estimated value of 50 thousand pesos for 10 heads? I normally practicing what the commercial feeds advices to their customer. I used excel products from pre starter to finishers and its almost 5 months old from birth now.My rough estimate weight maybe will not below 80kg/head. My farm is in Alangilan 8 kms. from Bacolod. And we almost spent 53 thousands pesos but then They are trying to buy our fatteners for 50t.

If anybody from this board who are from Bacolod please help. I am new to this business and just learnt some knowledge thru Sir NEMO advices.

We have one sow, everytime after 3-5 days of farrowing ay lumalabas ang rectum ( prolapsed rectum )
at we push it back. Then after weaning nawawala man lang until na mabuntis ulit and give birth.
Ano kaya ang mabuting gamot dito to cure the prolapsed rectum during lactation period ?
Is it hereditary to its piglets ?

Hindi po. You can use the lukewarm water to wash the prolapsed rectum then try to push it back inside. it woul be a lot easier.

Almost all of the antibiotic in the market are given parenterally. Common antibiotics are oxytetracycline, amoxiillin, penicillin, enrofloxacin, florfenicol at madami pa pong iba.

Ibinigay ko na po kahapon ang fatteners ko at 105. Abnormal nga ang panahon ngayon. Ang tindi
ng init sa piggery sa umaga at sa hapon bigla lang uulan. Sayang kong magkasakit pa ang mga alaga namin.

Re sa rectal prolapse, sometimes bumabalik po ito ng kusa as long na naaaddress ang nagccause nito. Sa akin po eh pinapractice kong ibalik ang prolapsed rectum. Cold compress is good pero ako i use luke warm water with sugar para madaling umimpis ang pamamaga. Then try to give parenteral antiobiotics.

I have fatteners to dispose as of now. Sabi sa akin ng mga biayehero matumal daw ang baboy ngayon sa palengke at 105 na
lang ang liveweight. Di ko pa po ibinibigay mga ito. Ave.wt. is 86kg. Iyong mga buyers natin dito sa forum di naman naga response.

Hi Doc Nemo. Sa palagay ko po sa Boar na ginamit namin. Kasi sinubukan namin
mag pa A.I. noon ng 2nd parity wala naman ang mga ganitong sakit kaya lang kakaunti ang anak (7 piglets only).
Sa 3rd parity gamit ang boar for hire lumalabas ang ganitong sakit. 17 piglets ang anak, 2 dito ay mummifed.
Ave. wt. ng mga biik ay 1.2 kg. Out of 15 piglets, only 11 now remaining.

It's more than 2 years na kami sa piggery business. At sa experience namin sa breeding side,
iyong mga biik na less than 1 kg kong ipinanganak ay always namamatay the following day after injecting
iron (3rd day) or mycoplasma (7th day) and very seldom ang mabuhay. Kong may mabuhay man ito ay
bansot and we sell it as litsonin. Sayang din kong mamatay ang biik, dagdag pa sana kita ito. Sa pag aaral mo
Doc, wala na ba tsansa na ma-save ang mga ganitong timbang na biik ?

Yes Doc, yellowish po talaga ang kulay ng biik. While iyong ibang kapatid ay pulang-pula.
Yes, we are giving the sow with iron at 86 and 100 days of pregnancy.
We used Ivermectin or Ivomec for deworming, 2 weeks before farrowing.
Next time ,we will adjust the iron for the yellowish piglets only and give vitamins at the

Papaano po kaya maiwasan ang pagsilang ng anemic na biik at ano dapat na medication sa sow para maiwasan
ang  maputla ( anemic ) na biik ?
Ang kulay ng biik ay yellowish at mahinang  dumide sa ina . Piglets weight  during birth ay 1.4kg pababa.
We are encountering this problem now and the piglets died after 3 to 5 days from birth.
We have complete vaccination (parvo-lepto ) and medication naman on our sows and boar.
