I have bought 10 sow it cost me 136k and also i rent a land which cost me 8k per month. Could you compute when would be my return of investment ? Is it advisable to rent a land because i do not have my own... i want to have a big farm someday. Thank you for posting.
To give you and idea ang production po nila sa current volume ng kanilang inahin is 15 pig sold per month dapat. Pero magsisimula ito after 9 months pa po. Kung kakabili palang nila ng inahin kailangan pa ng halos 4 months para ito ay mabuntis(assuming ready to breed na ang kanilang nabili) at manganak then another 5 months para mabenta ito as fattener.
Usual range po ng kita kada baboy is from 1000 pesos to 2000.
I would try to send you a simple ROI just give me time po medyo busy lang.
In theory the return of investment is 2-3 years. Although it is difficult to compute because we are dealing with livestock and the variability of piglet born and sold per month. TO give you an idea. At your current volume you should average 15 pig sold per month. But in your case it would start maybe in about 9 months. If you only acquired your sow now it would take almost 4 moths of pregnancy and another 5 months of rearing the pig before you can sell it. Usual range of profit per pig is around 1000-2000 pesos. So if you can sell 15 per month that is a 22500 profit. From that amount subtract your 8k rent, usually a raiser do not rent an area because he have his own. IT is better to have your own land. It is difficult to expand your building if you do not own the land. What if one day the owner needed the land. Then you will be burdened to create another building to house your animal. May i know where you bought your sow. So, i can add it to the list of commercial farm located in the advertisement section. I would try to send you a simple ROI just give me time po medyo busy lang

I do believe that If you believe you can and have faith in God you will succeed.

In theory it is better to use the pure duroc. But if your crossbred duroc gan give you the same or even better production then go for it.
Check the record of your crosbred duroc if it has a good averaged daily gain, good feed convertion ratio, physically it is masculine, came from a batch with a big litter then i would say it could be a good breeder.

In general, yes.
It is the most recommended combination.
But you have also to consider the data/performance of the duroc you are buying.
IT does not give you a assurance that if you are buying a Duroc, F1, PS etc means you have a quality breed. Always ask for a performance record. Most breeding farms have this.

Sir mikey, it is not impossible that a mosquito could kill a pig but it would take a swarm/ a hell lot of it just to kill a piglet. BUt to tobe honest most of i heard and see is that death is due to secondary bacterial infection.
Putting a net is a good device specially if you a near to a stagnant water.
Mr. Hog may handle there is nemovet.

Also sir about your question in the other forum.
Stillbirth is uncommon but it accounts to about maybe 3-5% in a farm's problems so every 100 piglet born there is a chance that 3-5 piglet are stillborn.
