I just want to ask if there is anyone ever tried to breed a Landrace sow to a PIC boar?
Are the breeding of both is a good slaughter pig?

Ask ko lang. We have a gilt, we breed last June 20, and we use Gonadin para mag standing heat ang gilt kasi its almost 8 months ne e2 at di pa naglalandi. After we breed we assume na magbubuntis e2 and
we forgot the recheck for heat after 21 and 42 days. After that breeding, pinasok na namin sa gestating
pen. Ngayon ay naglulugon e2. Ok lang ba na maglulugon ang buntis na baboy?

Dear Doc,
Ask ko lang if this practices are effective in breeding of piglets. Curious lang me sa mga
disscusion ng mga neighbors ko na may piggery din. Ito ang mga pinag usapan nila:
1. After mating the gilt or sow, dapat daw no feeds is given on this day.
    Feeds will be given on the following day.
2. Only 1 kilo of feed is given to the pregnant gilt or sow until it farrows.
    For the reasons that if the pregnant gilt or sow is given more than 1 kilo
    per day the development of unborn piglets are bigger at hirap ang inahin
    ilabas o ipanganak ang mga piglets which you have to make dukot na.
How true are these Doc? Considering Im still a newbie in this business.

2nd parity above just follow the pregnant and lactating vaccination program and removed those with note of first parity only.

 the PPV+LE, yun lang ang maremoved. For further clarification pasend nga uli sa akin yun last na nabigay ko na vaccination.

Doc, I got your vaccination program from Gilt to Pregnant to Lactating. This is for First
Parity. What about the Second Parity and so on?  Shall we follow the Pregnant and Lactating
vaccination program of First Parity?

Hi Doc Nemo,

Its almost one month that our largewhite junior boar has recovered from swine dysentery.
Ask ko lang if we can continue the vaccination program of the boar? It was stop due to swine dysentery
last May. The remaining vaccines of Pseudorabies, Parvo-Lepto were not implemented. Can we still continue the vaccinations or wait for 6 months again? And when do you think the boar can do service?

What i do is when the pen is vacant i disinfect it 3 straight days and 3 different disinfectant. Anything available in the market as long as 3 different brand sila. Or sometimes 2 different brand and zonrox. Or 1 branded, 1 zonrox and fire/apoy/blow torch.

Apply the first brand all over the pen and then let dry. Don't rinse.

Next day, rinse it and apply the second disinfectant. Don't rinse again, just let it dry.

Then same procedure for the last disinfectant.

If you are having constant problem in your farm, meaning almost every week some of you animal is sick then you can disinfect weekly the pen but this time you need to rinse immediately because the animal might drink it or lick it. Look for disinfectant that could be use even there is animal in the pen.  Just ask your local store for this kind of disinfectant. If ala zonrox will do.

Atleast a month siguro before you use your boar.

Try to ask your feed dealer if he/she know a AI center near your place.

For sure there is an AI center along your province it's just a matter of finding them na lang.
