Hi Doc, Naguguluhan lang ako tungkol sa pag gamit nitong Gonadin. Pag nag breed ka for 2nd parity gamit ang Gonadin, for example injected today and the sow comes to heat the next day, dapat na ba mag AI ? o palampasin muna and wait for the 2nd heat ? Maybe na confuse lang ako sa pag gamit ng Gonadin sa Gilt at Sow. Please enlighten me Doc. Thanks.

Hi Doc Nemo If you have injected Gonadin to a Gilt, how many days is the effectiveness of this hormone to the Gilt, so that it will come to heat ? If more than 2 days there is no effect, the Gilt has a problem ? Can we decide to cull her ?

Timing? I would not say timing, it is more of indication/indicated for animal who did not heat or returned to heat. So, if it is a gilt sometimes it is use to boost the hormone in its body so it would be interpreted by the brain that the animal is already in heat. If the animal is already 8 month old, does not show any sign of heat and you do not want to dispose it , you could give hormone to force heat it. If the animal is already a sow and does not return to heat after 10-15 days after weaning you could already give hormonal treatment also.
Advantage: The animal will heat and hopefully after breeding it will become pregnant.
Disadvantage: The animal might be dependent / addicted to the hormone.
Thanks Doc, ngayon malinaw na malinaw na sa akin, at siguro sa mga taga subaybay din ng forum na ito. Nick

What is the timing of injecting Gonadin or PG-600 ? 2. What are the advantages and disadvantages of using Gonadin or PG-600 ? Your answer to this query will enlighten us, specially we, as backyard raisers. Thanks. Nick

Hi Doc Nemo, May I ask also for the article on Procedures in starting poultry livelihood with 100 boiler chicks. Thanks po. Nick A broiler requires 1 square feet so if you have 100 broiler you need a minimum of 100 square feet of floor.
For source of broiler chick. You could ask your local poultry supply about it. Prices might range from 20 pesos and up.
I will email you some other article.

Thanks Doc Nemo, it is inspiring naman. try nga namin ito. Nick It is an F1.
You could get a replacement gilt from it but the performance is not sure.
Logic will dictate that there is a high probability that it will give a good offspring that can be used as a gilt.
In contrast to breeding farm, In breeding farm the animal they sell are proven to produce quality piglets.
If you are short in budget choosing from your herd is not a bad idea.

Hi Doc Nemo, Good day. I just want to get your opinion, regarding the right age of male piglets subject to castration. If the piglets is for fattener and then slaughter, what is the minimum and maximum age of male piglets to be scheduled for castration? Is there any conflict when the administration of vaccines or vitamins injection is the same day of castration? Thanks. Nick

LIVESTOCKS / BREEDING / Re: PAGLALANDI NG SOW

Thanks Doc for your kind help. God Bless. It is ideal that the sow will return to heat in 7 days.
At the 8th day if there is still no sign of heat you could stress the animal by given half of its feed ration only. THis is assuming that the sow is not to thin.
I usually wait until 14 days. If still there is no sign of heat i give Gonadin.

LIVESTOCKS / BREEDING / PAGLALANDI NG SOW
|
on: September 18, 2008, 01:10:53 PM

Hi Doc, Good Day. Ask ko lang Doc if the 10 days after weaning of Sow, the Sow should come to heat? Kasi we weaned the Sow last Sept.8 and today Sept 18, the Sow did not come to heat. The sow breed is landrace and she just give her first parity and we are on the second breed. Is it possible that she will heat after 10 days? What is the maximum days of waiting till she will come to heat in order to breed her? Thanks. Nick
