Cheap Protein for Pigs: Scrap Fish
One of the richest sources of protein for pigs is fish. But fishmeal is expensive and not easily available in some places. However, in places by the sea, there are opportunities to provide their pigs with cheap protein.
Manner of Preparation:
1. Place the fishes in containers that are not metallic, must be clay pot or enamel.
2. For every 100 kilos of different fishes, add 3 liters mallic acid (or sulfuric acid). Acid stops the growth of microbes in the flesh of the fishes and from deterioration.
3. Put in an equal amount of corn, cassava, or grains. This will increase the carbohydrate content of the mixture and will lower the acid percentage in the feed.
The resulting 1.5% acid will not damage the stomach or intestine of the pigs

Yes doc volume is the key.if one had 100 fatteners after all is said and done the farmer would make at the low point he would make 80,000 am I right?thats if all hogs raised to 80 kg at a 10 peso profit. That would be way above the adverage income for a filipino worker. If you had a large farm and your management skills where very good you could make alot.If you had a 100 sow operation 1000 piglets every 4 months that would be 800,000 thousand profit is my math wrong?thats at 10 peso per kg live weight profit.ok lets minus that some more 5 peso kg still 400,000 profit

Hi all Have any of you hog farmers figured whats your profit for live weight per kg?after all your feeds meds electric labour are done?I know feeds cost are different in all places in the phills. But whats the adverage 5-10 pecos a kg?I think this hog bizniz in the phills is a volume game.If you had a large amount of money for the feeds you could make alot of money in this hog bizniz.
