Proper Shifting feeds
---------------------------------------------------- english version:
Proper Shifting feeds
Shifting of feeds is due to two reason:
1. Shifting to the next stage of the feeding program. 2. Changing from one brand to another.
We must always remember that shifting feeds should be done gradual.
Example:
If your animal current feed is prestarter and you are shifting it to starter this is what you should do: 1. First day: Mix 75% prestarter and 25% starter feeds. This combination should be given to the animal every meal. 2. Second day: Mix 50% prestarter and 50% starter. 3. Third day: Mix 25% prestarter and 75% starter. 4. Fourth day: Give 100% starter.
If you are shifting from one brand to another whether it is the same stage or not you must follow the same procedure as above.
This is primarily done to prevent diarrhea and to prevetn upset stomach to the animal.
doc...same application din po ba sa starter to grower, grower to finisher....

Cover your housing. Be sure that no cold wind can enter your pens.
Less bath or no bath at all for your pig especially if it is cold.
If it is too cold we sometimes give vitamins or guava fruit will do as source of vitamins c.
You could also put dayami in the pen.
thank you doc..

150 fatteners is the target per month only. Although you have 100 sows not all will farrow that particular month.
Example: Out of the 100 sow only 80% will get pregnant and say the farrowing rate is 2.3 and the number of pig born let say 11.
80*2.30*11=2024/12 months =168 per month- 10% mortality= 152 pigs per month. This is just an assumption. Just to give you some idea.
thank you doc....

Prevention is usually is disinfection, antibiotic and vitamins therapy. Because of the weather animals gets sick very easy. Give proper ventilation to the housing and water supply should be unlimited

a 100 sow farm will produce 150 fatteners per month. yeah average na yan or 1800 pig per year.
Mortality less than 10% sa piglets/nursing and less than 6 percent sa fattening stage.
