Hello,
I am wondering if any one would happen to know what can be expected on average, is the profit per kilo in the contract grower business?
I know this will vary do the managements ability, but I am thinking there is a reasonible expected amount of profit to be made. If any knows this, could you please pass it along or pm it to us?
Thank you in advance,

A friend of mine said that this company pay them around 8 pesos per bird as long as the mortality is around 5% only. And it would go up depending on the volume and feeds to weight ratio of the animal.
Just to give you an idea.

Sir Nemo, I think 8 php per bird is too small considering the amount that you´ll spend in rearing them chickens.... LPG for the heaters 24 hrs a day for 2 weeks, current, medicines and wage for the care taker roughly you´ll spend around 25k ..dont forget you´ll need to have money for the maintenance of the housing since this will not last forever, but if it´s true that its the amount that they will pay you then I think this bussiness is not profitable...coz you can´t raise them all and some will be rejects that will not pass that standard weight..this is just my calculations on a 5,000 chicks, anyways these are just my thoughts no offense meant Sir, just want to write down my opinion

It is good that you right your opinion atleast this would be a healthy discussion.
Maintenance of the house would only be minor usually flooring which is only made of bamboo.
In terms of LPG this is costly. You use it around 10-12 hrs per day.
Poultry is a bit risky yet flow of money is faster compared to swine. I do think it still profitable because there are still contract grower which have a size up to a 100,000 birds.
BUt like any livestock there days that you only break even, worst you loss some money. But if you hit a good harvest then good.
If you want to really venture in poultry what i would suggest is try first to grow a small flock. around 100-500 and learn the basic. Then afterwards it is up to you if you want to go on your own or go contract growing.Although to some starting small is also a dilemma.
