Hi ,

Gusto ko po sana humingi ng information with regards to setting up a poultry business. Naghahanap po ako ng feasilibilty study sa pag-aalaga ng manok like ung ROI, initial capital, bilang ng manok, size and cost ng kulungan, etc. Balak ko po ung manok na 45 days o di kaya ung manok na nangingitlog.

Tsaka ok po ba na ung kulungan ng manok is malapit sa babuyan.

Thanks,
Badong

To be honest im not into poultry but to give you an idea:

The FCR(yun dami na pagkain para tumimbang sila ng isang kilo) of poultry is around 1.8 kgs.
Current cost of day old chicken is around 23-28 pesos.
average cost of feed per kilo is 15-22 pesos.

So if you're target weight is around 1.6 kgs you need around 2.88 kgs of feeds (1.6kg x 1.8 feeds).

2.88 * 18 pesos price of feeds(assumption) = 51.84 pesos cost of feed

  51.84 price of feeds
+28.00 price of chick
  10.00 medicine
--------
89.84 total cost production / 1.6 kg target weight

=56.15 per kilo liveweight break evenpoint. All of thisbase on my assumption. Kalimitan kasi ng kilala ko is into contract grower.

In terms naman po sa gusto nila sa nangingitlog na manok. Ang masasabi ko lang po ang laying animal is for expert people or may malaking puhunan. Mas mabilis po kasi ang pagkalugi at pag angat sa business na laying. And medyo sensitive sila sa weather.

Thanks

If you exclude the  cost to build the cages then possible that you get some earning. But if you will include the cost of the cages it might take you a while before you could earn.

Building a Cage will take a lot of your resources.

doc,
good day po sa kanila, doc matanung ko lang po marami po akng naririnig na negative ideas about raising 45 day old chicks kasi mas nakukunsumo na daw ng manok yung puhunan mo at the same time break even lang ang labanan dahil sa taas ng feeds isa pa pag dating pa sa buyer eh babaratin ka pa so,kesa sa kumunsumo ka pa ng malaki sa feeds wala ka na lang choice kundi ibenta na lang kahit mura ang kuha nila...naisip ko lang hindi na po ba ganun kaganda when it comes to livelihood ang pag-aalaga ng broiler may kita pa rin po ba dito?anu po ba ang mga dapat gawin para maging successful ka sa business na to?thank you po doc and mabuhay po kayo and happy new year.......

sad to say this is true.

Liveweight price is low and high cost of production are the culprit.

Feed wastage should be very minimal to none.

death should be minimal.

Your chick  should be from a good company.

Pray that liveweight will go up.
