I cannot see any disadvantage in converting your gestating to farrowing pen the only question is that by doing so would it not mean you have less gestating pen? Does the remaining gestating pen would be enough for your sows?

Usually in a well program farm the ratio is in every 10 sow you need around 3-4 farrowing and 7 gestating pen.

You could do that by adding a detachable wing/side for the gestating pen. Sort of expansion siya.

Hi Doc,
Ang sa akin naman, instead of gestating pen to farrowing , puede ba ang farrowing pen to gestating pen ?
I,m planning to do this in order to save space and money instead of constructing new gestation pen.
Is there any disadvantages on the part of sow ? Anyway, dyan naman sia ilagay during her farrowing,
kasi vacant ito ngayon.
Thanks.
