Title: Vaccination
Post by: sanico on July 13, 2009, 09:02:16 PM
Hi Doc,
What is the specific reason why we don't vaccinate hogs when it is raining?
I cannot answer the question of my son, I'm not kasi familiar. Alam ko lang
Huwag mag bakuna kong umuulan. Thanks.

Actually it is not the rain but it is the temperature. If it is too cold animals are susceptible to diseases and decrease immune response. Same as humans pag malamig prone tayo sa ubo at sipon. And when this happen the vaccine will not work on its full potential because most of the energy of the animal is being used to maintain its body temperature and not to elicit/produce immunity for the animal.

kung ala talaga hog cholera sa area nyo then kahit hindi kayo magbakuna.

Best pa rin na consult your Munincipal vet at sila ang makakapagsabi kung ala bang case  ng hog cholera sa kanila
