Mid to Late Rainy Season Blues:

This is from personal experience only raising goats in the Philippines.We do consult with our vet,for advise and method of treatment.I have found that its the mid to late period of the rainy season that your goat(s) will experience more problems with worm loads.The practise of using UMMB is common to help control worm loads throughout the whole rainy season,reported good results for those who feed it to their goat.Personally we do not use it.The cement binder,used to hold it all together,I am not sure about using cement.Now is the time,to keep a close eye on your goat(s),look for the tell tales signs of worm load
-dull coats
-skinny,but eats well
-diarrhea (scours) may see worms
-potbelly
-general weakness
Goats that are in overcrowded conditions,dirty/unclean housing,under the cut and carry system,larve may be on the forage feeds without the knowledge of the caretaker,who is feeding the goat.The producer must stay on top of this problem or it will cost a producer  in lost time and money.A sick goat will not make money for the owner.Have a plan ready at the beginning of the rainy season,will save alot of headaches down the road.
