Title: Re: Goat Polio Post by: mikey on September 28, 2007, 03:20:21 PM Dr. Nemo, lets hope this is not true, was told about this on another website.
I red that goat polio is a metabolic disease affects goats raised under intensive management conditions improper feeding, too much grain, too little roughage sudden changes in feed vitamin B1 deficiency Goat polio is present in any country that raises goats, not that uncommon apparently. Good Day Doc. mikey Title: Re: Goat Polio Post by: nemo on September 29, 2007, 07:56:12 AM He,he,he stupid me!
Now i know why the local government of Gen san didn't reply. When i read that you are asking about polio my mind is thinking about polio same as human which is transmissible from animal to animal. I did not check the data per see for i am to busy. SOry for that, i am not a goat practioner that why some of my idea was mixed with other diseases. Deficiencies are not transmissible. Even if they are smuggled in the country it would not have a medical impact. But still smuggling is a No, NO, NO. More often than not because of the internet and other media, problems (goat polio) like this is blown out of proportion. Rumors tends to make it more evil than it should be. So, i would say the problem is not the goat polio but the smuggling. Concern should be directed to smuggling. Title: Re: Goat Polio Post by: mikey on September 29, 2007, 03:55:18 PM Dr. Nemo, this has me confused myself,at first I did not know what goat polio was, never gave it much thought, sounds like it is curable, affects the brain I think.Goats will die from this polio if not treated.

I have emailed many government agency regarding different matters and almost 90% they do not reply back. To Gen San people be proud of your local government. They are really there to serve the people. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ October 5, 2007 THE HONORABLE PEDRO B. ACHARON, JR. City Mayor General Santos City Thru : ERNESTO V. QUISAY, SR. Chief of Staff SIR: Magandang GENSAN! This is in response to CN 125618 or CMO-LRB-IND2007-2510 re: Goat Polio Problem. The Office of the City Veterinarian would like to inform that there is no such disease as Goat Polio in General Santos City. Based on our disease surveillance in commercial and backyard raisers of goat, there was no occurrence of such disease. Trading of goats and chevon in our city are still going on. Further, smuggling of goats from Indonesia is very impossible. We have superior quality breed of goats compared to neighboring islands of Indonesia. We have also bigger goat population and it is impractical for us to import from Indonesia. We hope that this official statement from our office will clear the alleged issue. Very truly yours, DR. ANTONIO EPHREM S. MARIN CGDH II Title: Re: Goat Polio Post by: SARA on November 09, 2007, 02:02:55 PM Nice to hear from our mayor.
