You could get a replacement gilt from it but the performance is not sure. Logic will dictate that there is a high probability that it will give a good offspring that can be used as a gilt. In contrast to breeding farm, In breeding farm the animal they sell are proven to produce quality piglets. If you are short in budget choosing from your herd is not a bad idea.
