Hi Doc, Good Day. Ask ko lang Doc if the 10 days after weaning of Sow, the Sow should come to heat?
Kasi we weaned the Sow last Sept.8 and today Sept 18, the Sow did not come to heat. The sow breed
is landrace and she just give her first parity and we are on the second breed. Is it possible that she will heat after 10 days? What is the maximum days of waiting till she will come to heat in order to breed her?
Thanks.

It is ideal that the sow will return to heat in 7 days.

At the 8th day if there is still no sign of heat  you could stress the animal by given half of its feed ration only. THis is assuming that the sow is not to thin.

I usually wait until 14 days. If still there is no sign of heat i give Gonadin.

there is no hope for my sow. i waited for 3o days na mangandi ito ng normal pero time waited has gone to waste. only today i was forced to inject gonadin 250. i will use the same boar na nakapagproduce ng 13biik sa isa kong sow. i hope na normal pa rin ang semilya sa sow ko since it is forced to heat. Sad doc do u have any idea about water med, NUTRILYTE? does it help?

Ako din po may problema. May 4 akong inahin na hindi naglalandi considering ang dalawa sa kanila ay 2 weeks running ng nawalay sa biik.  And the other 2 is from being dumalaga. I believe they are due now kasi they already on the right age and weight. Kaso not even once naglandi...

Anybody who can give me advice as I am new in this business...

Maraming salamat po..

Try to breed it again if it returns to heat then it is a candidate for culling.

The less costly procedure you could do is stress them, just give little feeds for maybe 1-2 days and see if they will heat. Also give vitamin ade.

The fastest and costly approach is to give them hormone like gonadin. Wait for 7 days, sometimes it will just take 24-48 hours to take effect and you will see the animal will heat.

You can breed the gilt if it show signs of heat after given gonadin although it is possible it will only give few piglets.
An other alternative is if it show sign of heat wait for 21 days and hopefully it will cycle normally and you can breed it then. Take note that there is also possibility that it will not show sign after 21 days if this happen you will need to inject again gonadin and wait for it to heat again and then breed it.

Dear Doc Nemo,

Good Day and Hapi New Year. Doc, iyong 2- F1 namin ay nag reheat again.
Both of them were injected with Gonadin before breeding.
Ang isang F1 ay nag reheat again after 40 days from AI, suppose to be her 2nd Parity at isa naman ay
nag reheat after 60 days from breeding by AI also suppose to be her 1st parity.
Before injecting Gonadin for breeding may signs na itong dalawa sa paglugon.

Are they thin nun naglulugon sila?
Backbones are protruding?

Give vitamins and adequate feeds nalang para magtuloytuloy na siya.

Di naman payat at katamtaman lang. Siguro sa pag timing din ng AI, Kasi puro
baguhan ang gumagawa ng AI.

Usually if the animal rehat at 40 days above it means it was pregnant and later na abort  na lang. Or like you said it is also possible that when the animal is AI it got pregnant but only few eggs are fertilized then after few days some of those fertilized egg dies  and the tendency the animal will abort and reheat
