dark brown, semi-formed still birth
«

Parang 5 out of 10 nabubuhay, the rest still birth. And they say na ang cause daw is ung feed formulation ng isang low-end na commercial feed is mataas ung lime content/ apog. All backyards owners that encountered mummified piglets used the same feed brand.
Dati raw when they use other feed brand, hindi ganun ung result naman. How is it true po ba na they are looking at the feed formulation as the root cause?

Pwde xang maging carrier kht magkakaiba ung dates of delivery?

@B, wala akong naibigay na parvo vaccine. due date nya dapat ay sept 7. maganda sana ang dami ng gatas nya, even before 10 days of expected parity, kahit hindi pa naka lactating feed, malaki na dede nya. she have good build, i can't say na mataba sya, at 2kg grains fed per day.
hopefully maganda maging resulta so i can't blame the delivery boy hehehe

@veni malamang nadale ka parvo...
@up_n_under,

Thanks doc sa reply. actually ung feedback that i heard came from a semi farm owner na lagi nilang tinatakbuhan for emergency. Magaling kasi xang mang service kaya kahit madaling araw, maagapan tlga may sakit.
Iisa ung brand na ginamit ng lahat ng may mummufied piglets and nasa iisang kaming barangay, no body of water nearby. Although ala xang basis to say na ang cause is sa content ng feed, un ung una nyang suspect without even saying na baka due to virus ito. I think he is also aware of the causes of mummified piglets.
Nevertheless, though hindi ito mismo galing sa feed content (excess element), ung cause naman, which we suspect, might came from the process of delivering the feeds, di na rin cguro naisip ng feed company to take extra precaution. If this will be the case, mahirap tlgang matrace ung root cause kung san galing.
So for us owners, take extra precaution na rin pla. Ang gngwa namin is that ibabagsak na lng muna nila un sa harap ng bhay, then someone will get it and store it sa stock room the next day. I make sure rin na wala dun or malayo ung tao ko kapag nagdeliver para di xa maging carrier rin pag nagtransfer xa kinabukasan.

salamat doc nemo for your reply. i have no experience yet about parvo. this was my 3rd delivery, as i am just over a year in pig raising by now. i use the deep-bedding system, so i had a weekly spray of indigenous microorganism (IMO), sanitizing the whole place.
i use a widely travelled boar when mating my sows, di kaya sila naman ang dahilan? yung mga gusto mag alok sa akin ng AI ay yun naman ang sales talk, baka daw mi dalang sakit naman ang magbobolog.
this is a group of 6 sows, i had in fact had another delivery last sept 4, 9 healthy piglets and 1 stillbirth... i used the same magbobolog but he have another boar which he used with this successful delivery. i am expecting another parity by sept 11.
i will try to look in previous threads if there is already a discussion about parvo and post my queries there. so this thread stays on topic about mummified and possible causes.
