Title: New Pig Breeder Farm
Post by: MaeBarles on September 21, 2010, 11:42:51 AM
Hello ~

I am going to build a pig breeder farm in Laguna or Batangas, Philippines, where my family has land, and I am having difficulty getting accurate numbers regarding start up costs and potential return on investment/profit. I plan to begin with 10-20 sows.

Any information that you can provide is greatly appreciated. My email address is: bs200856@yahoo.com

Thank you in advance for your help.

Mae

hi, capital will actually depend on the type of building you want to erect, the quality and bloodline of breeding stock that you want to use in your farm; bloodline aquisition and selection is one primary concern that you need to primarily consider. Well of course the breeding stock that you will choose will depend on your taste / preference. what are you looking into....as i have observedthe traits of different breeds. traits, temperament, structure and confirmation the performance of your breedings.
if you are new in hog raising, start w/ several pigs first, study how to raise them, be hands on...you can start w/ at least 10 growouts. and at least 3 breeder sows. the budget of one growout piglet untill the time its marketable is about 3500 to 4200 pesos. now for the sows maintenance is at least 70 pesos cost of feeds a day....
