What: Hands on demo for natural farming inputs and livestock feeds
When: September 27, 2008, Saturday. 9am to 3pm
Where: Greater Fairview (our Model community for natural farming, without chemicals)
How to get there: Ride SM Fairview bus/jeep and then go down sa McDo Regalado. Right a tricycle from there and say sa Greater Fairview Barangay Hall.
Fee: P200 without food

Mam jojie lim will give a hands on demo of the mixing of the natural farming inputs concoctions from 9am to 12 and then 1-3pm naman ay mixing of feeds for chicken, pigs and fishes.  They are only asking for P200 fee for this to cover the expenses for the materials na they will prepare for this.  IF maka-30 people daw pwede nang P150 pero if hindi then its P200 without food pa.

OK din daw mag attend kahit di pa naka-attend ng lectures nila parang magiging crash course daw ito.

To everyone,
 
I will be conducting a ToT on Natural Farming (April 16-17) here in Sorsogon City sponsored by Green Valley Development Project a partner of World Vision Development Foundation in the province. We are expecting at least 25 farmer leaders and DA personels from the municipalities of Magallnes, Sta Magdalena, Juban, Bulan and Sorsogon city. The venue is located in El Retiro, Cavid-an, Sorsogon City.
 
Next week, (April 23-24), I will also be conducting NF training with the group of Father Joe in the municipality of Dinalupihan, Bataan.
 
Please include us in your prayers that God will use this events a blessing for all the participants for them  to bless others after the training.

Reading the article,I became very much interested to the methods that the natural farming utilizes.

We will be using this Natural Farming System Inputs to integrate sa project namin sa community development sa isang village dito sa cambodia. Meron sana akong itanong ano ba yong ihalo input sa seed & seedling treatment (SST) na 3 litro daw na tubig, then 2 tbsp na FPJ and 2 tbsp na pambaskog sa tanom, ano ba itong pambaskog sa tanom? ano urea o ano?  I will appreciate if anyone can help. Praymer sa Paggawa ng IMO o Indigenous Micro Organisms

Mga Kahalagahan nito sa Organikong Pagsasaka:

a. Nagpapasagana ito ng sustansya ng lupa
b. Pinabibilis nito ang pagkabulok ng compost
c. Meron nito sa lupa ngunit unti-unting nawawala sa maraming dahilan

Paraan ng Paggawa ng IMO:

   1. Maglagay ng isang kilong (1 kg) kanin sa isang kahoy na may 8 ½ “ x 11” x 3” amag laki o isang maliit na putol ng kawayan na bukas.
   2. Takpan ang kahon o kawayan ng malinis na papel at talian ito.
   3. Takpan rin ng plastic para hindi makapasok ang tubig-ulan, insekto at maliliit na hayop.
   4. Tanggalin matapos ang tatlong (3) araw. Sa pagkakataong ito, may mga namumuo nang amag sa ibabaw ng kanin.
   5. Ilagay sa lilom ng kahuyan o kawayanan o di kaya’y tabunan ng bunot ng niyog.
   6. Ilagay sa isang palayok ang inamag na kanin at haluan ng isang (1) kilong ulang asukal.
   7. Takpan ang palayok ng malinis na papel, talian ang takip. Ilagay sa isang malamig at malilom na lugar. Pagkalipas ng pitong (7) araw ay magtatamo ito ng malaputik na katas. Ito ang tatayong katas ng inyong IMO.

Paraan ng Paggamit ng Katas ng IMO:

   1. Haluan ng dalawang (2) kutsarang katas ng IMO ang isang (1) litrong tubig.
   2. Ipandilig ito sa lupa at mga halaman.

Mga Kahalagahan nito sa Organikong Pagsasaka:

a. Tumatayong pagkain para sa mga IMO.
b. Pinagbubuti ang paglaki ng mga halaman
c. Nagpapatingkad ng mga lungting dahon o nakapagpapaigi ng “photosynthesis”.

Paraan ng Paggawa ng FPJ:

   1. Bilang sangkap, pumutol ng isang puno ng “Cardaba” variety ng saging. Maari din gamitin ang talbos ng kamote, kangkong, alugbati o ng labong.
   2. Tadtarin ang dalawang (2) kilo ng napiling sangkap at haluan ng isang (1) kilong pulang asukal.
   3. Ilagay ang lahok sa palayok at patungan ng bato upang sumiksik ang pataba. Iwan nang ganito sa loob ng isang araw.
   4. Tanggalin ang bato at takpan ang palayk ng malinis na papel at talian. Hayaang maburo ng pitong araw.
   5. May makukuhang ½ litrong katas mula sa binuro.
   6. Ipandilig sa lupa at sa dahon. Maari rin inumin g tao bilang pampalusog. Ito ay tumutulong sa pagdami ng IMO.

Paraan ng Paggamit ng Katas ng FPJ:

   1. Kumuha ng dalawang (2) kutsara ng katas at haluan ng isang (1) litrong tubig.
   2. Ipandilig sa lupa kasama ang katas ng IMO isang beses kada linggo.



Praymer sa Paggawa ng FFJ o Fermented Fruit Juice

Mga Kahalagahan nito sa Organikong Pagsasaka:
Nagpapatamis ito ng mga prutas sa pamamagitan ng pagdagdag sa potassium.

Paraan ng Paggawa ng FFJ:

   1. Talupan at tadtarin ang isang (1) kilong hinog na prutas (huwag isama ang balat at buto). Maaaring gamitin ang mangga, saging, papaya at abukado Maari din ang magulag na kalabasa.
   2. Ilagay ang tinadtad na prutas sa palayok at haluan ng isang (1) kilong pulang asukal.
   3. Takpan ng malinis na papel at talian. Ilagay sa malamig at malilom na lugar. Hayaag maburo ng pitong (7) araw.
   4. Makakagawa ng dalawa at kalahating (2 ½) litro ng katas.
   5. Ipandilig sa mga dahon at sa lupa. Maari dinitong inumin.

Paraan ng Paggamit ng Katas ng FFJ:

   1. Kumuha ng dalawang (2) kutsarang katas at haluan ng isang (1) litrong tubig.
   2. Ipandilig sa lupa at sa mga dahon kasama ng IMO at FFJ.



Praymer sa Paggawa ng OHN o Oriental Herbal Nutrient

Mga Kahalagahan nito sa Organikong Pagsasaka:
Nagbibigay ito ng proteksiyon upang makaiwas sa sakit ang mga pananim.

Paraan ng Paggawa ng OHN:

   1. Magtadtad ng limang (5) kilong luya o bawang.
   2. Ilagay sa garapon. Lagyan ito ng beer hanngang sa ikatlo (1/3) ng garapon.
   3. Makalipas ang labindalawang (12) oras ay maglagay ng isang (1) kilong pulang asukal. Hayaang maburo ng apat o hanggang limang (4-5) araw.
   4. Sundan ang mga ito kapag handa na ang buro:
          * Lagyan ng gin hanngang umabot sa leeg ng garapon. Pabayaan ng sampung (10) araw.
          * Matapos ang sampung araw, kumuha ng sabaw na kasing dami ng gin na inilagay.
          * Ulit-ulitin ang letrang “a” at “b” hanggang sa umabot ng limang (5) ulit.
          * Sa ika-apat at ika-limang ulit ay samahan ng dinikdik na sili, panyawan, at bunga ng “neem” ag gin upang tumapang ang gamot.
   5. Ipandilig sa mga halaman kasama ang IMO, FFJ at FPJ kada lingo. Kapag nanghihina ang mga tanim o kapag nagsisimula nang mamulaklak.

Paraan ng Paggamit ng Katas ng OHN:

Ihalo ang dalawang (2) kutsara ng OHN sa isang (1) litro ng tubig. Ipandilig sa lupa at mga dahon kasama ang ang IMO at FPJ kada lingo.



Praymer sa Paggawa ng FAA o Fish Amino Acid

Mga Kahalagahan nito sa Organikong Pagsasaka:
Nagpapalagom ng nitrohina (nitrogen) sa lupa

Paraan ng Paggawa ng Fish Amino Acid:

   1. Maglagay ng ilang isda, tinik, bituka, hasang at balat, o suso sa isang lalagyang plastic. Haluan ng kasindaming pulang asukal.
   2. Takpan at ilagay sa isang malamig at malilom na lugar. Hayaang maburo ng sampung araw at kunin ang katas.
   3. Ihalo ang dalawang (2) kutsara ng katas sa isang (1) litrong tubig. Ipandilig sa halaman, lupa at compost.



Praymer sa Paggawa ng Calcium Phosphate

Mga Kahalagahan nito sa Organikong Pagsasaka:

Tumutulong sa pamumulaklak ng mga pananim.

Paraan ng Paggawa ng Calcium Phosphate:

   1. Magpakulo ng dalawang (2) kilong buto (ng hayop) hanggang matangal ang laman at taba. Pahanginan hanggang matuyo.
   2. Ihawin ang buto hanggang mangulay uling. Hayaang lumamig pagkatapos
   3. Ilagay sa plastic na sisidlan na may limang (5) galong sukang niyog (walang kulay). Takpan at pabayaan ng tatlumpung (30) araw bago gamitin.



Praymer sa Paggawa ng Calcium

Mga Kahalagahan nito sa Organikong Pagsasaka:
Nagpapatatag ng mga bulaklak.

Paraan ng Paggawa ng Calcium:

   1. Magprito ng dalawang (2) kilong balat ng itlog hanging mangitim. Itabi muna nang sandali matapos i-prito at hayaang lumamig.
   2. Ilagay sa sisidlang plastic ang mga napritong balat ng itlog at samahan ng limang (5) galon ng sukang niyog (walang kulay). Takpan ang sisidlan at pabayaan ng dalawampung (20) araw.
   3. Ihalo ang dalawang (2) kutsarang katas na makukuha sa isang litrong tubig. Ipandilig ito sa halaman, lupa, at compost.



Praymer sa Paggawa ng Natural Attractant for Flying Insects

Mga Kahalagahan nito sa Organikong Pagsasaka:
Tumatayong pamukana ng mga lumilipad na pesteng kulisap.

Paraan ng Paggawa ng Natural Attractant for Flying Insects:

   1. Magpakulo ng isang (1) galong sukang niyog na may kalahating (1/2) kilong pulang asukal. Hayaang lumamig at lagyan ng ikatlong (1/3) litro ng purong FPJ. Ilagay sa maliliit na sisidlan.
   2. Magsabit ng ilang sisidlan sa mga punong kahoy na nagbubunga.
   3. Magsabit din ng ilang sisidlan sa mga gumagapang na gulay.
   4. Ilipat ang laman ng ilang sisidlan sa mas bukas na lalagyan at itabi ito sa gilid ng gulayan.



Praymer sa Paggawa ng Seed and Seedling Treatment


Mga Kahalagahan nito sa Organikong Pagsasaka:
Nagsisigurp sa magandang paglago ng mga halaman, dahil karamihan sa mga makabagong binhi ay mahihina. Sa pamamagitan ng Seed and Seedling Treatment, ang binhi ay magkakaroon ng makakaal na cotyledon na magpapatatag dito laban sa bulate. Gaganda rin ang paglago ng ugat na magpapalakas ng resistensya ng halaman sa sakit.

Paraan ng Paggawa ng Seed and Seedling Treatment:

   1. Sa tatlong (3) litro ng tubig, ihalo ang dalawang (2) kutsara ng lambanog, dalawang (2) kutsarang FPJ, at dalawang (2) kutsarang OHN. Ilagay ang mga buto sa isang net bag o sa isang wine basket.
   2. Ibabad ang mga binhi ditto sa loob ng apat hannganng walong (4-8) oras. Mas matagal na ibabad ang mga binhing mabagal sumibol. Siguraduhing Itanim ang mga binhi bago ito matuyo.
   3. Huwag diligan ag mga punla dalawang (2) araw bago mag lipat-tanim. Ulitin ang timpla sa #1 at ibabad ang punla ng labinlimang (15) segundo; agad na maglipat-tanim pagkatapos.
   4. Ipandilig ang matitira sa pinagbabaran ng mga halaman matapos silang itanim.



Praymer sa Paggawa ng BOKASI

Inihanda ni Mr. Jun Garde

Mga Kahalagahan nito sa Organikong Pagsasaka:
Isang mabisang pamamaraan ng pagpapabilis ng paggawa ng organikong pataba na sa loob lamang ng labing apat na araw maari na nating gamitin o I-aply sa bukirin.

Mga Sangkap na kailangang Ihanda:

    * 15 Bags ng darak (rice bran)
    * 30 Bags tae ng baka, kalabaw o ng manok
    * 10 Bags ng carbonized rice hull (CRH)
    * 10 Bags ng garden soil
    * 3 Lata ng abo
    * 3 kilong pulang asukal o molasses
    * 3 litorng tuba o basi o sabaw ng buko
    * 1 litrong IMO, FPJ, FAA, CALCIUM at FFJ
    * 80 Litrong tubig
    * 3 Beer Grande

Paraan ng Paggawa ng BOKASI:

   1. Patag na lupa, o sementadong lugar ang kailangan
   2. Unahin ang tae ng hayop, siguraduhing durog upang maging mas mabisa
   3. Isunod ang darak (rice brand)
   4. Pagkalipas ng isang halo, isunod ang garden soil at sinunog na ipa (abo)
   5. Pagkalipas muli ng isang halo pagsabayang ipang-dilig ang tuba o basi
   6. Samantalang ang IMO, FPJ, FAA, CALCIUM at ang pulang asukal o molasses ay magkasamang ihalo sa isang timbang tubig, para pandilig habang hinahalo ito
   7. Kailangan mabasa ito hanggang 45% na pagkakabasa, para ito ay mabulok
   8. Pagkahalo ng mga sangkap, ipunin ito ng pahaba sa sukat na 1.5 metro at sa lapad na 3-4 metro naman pahaba
   9. Siksikin ito gamit ang pala at takpan ng plastic, pagkatapos mgalagay ng pabigat para hindi galawin ng hayop
  10. Kailangan madalas ang paghahalo ng ginawang compost sa unang anim na araw, 2 beses kada araw
  11. Pagkalipas ng 6 na araw, isang bese na lang ang paghalo hanggang umabot ng labing apat na araw
  12. Pagkalipas, itusok ang iyong kamay upang malaman kung pwede na ito gamitin, pagka di na maiinit, pwede na ito i-aply sa bukid.

    * Para sa gulay: isabay sa paghahanda ng pagtatamnam ang pagsabog ng bokasi
    * Sa panahon ng paglipat sa gulay, isang latang bokasi ang kailangan i-apply sa kada puno
    * Sa nature farming tekniks: ilubog ang puno, gulay o palay sa tubig na may halong OHN, FPJ, FAA bago ito itanim
    * Kailangang sa pagpupunla palang ay maghalo na ng bokasi



Praymer sa Paggawa ng IBOF o Shizen Improved Bio-Organic Fertilizer

Ano ang IBOF?

    * Ang SHIZEN IBOF ay isang uri ng “pinagbuting patabang bio-organic” mula sa mga nabubulok na mga bagay at hinaluan ng mga mabubuting mikrobyo.
    * Mula ito sa mga ibat-ibang nabubulok na sangkap sa pamamagitan ng paggamit ng mga mabubuting mikrobyo, upang mapabilis ang pagkabulo ng mga ito at mapatay ang mga masasamang mikrobyo sa mga sangkap. Pagkatapos ay lalagyan natin ng mga fermenting agent.

Paghahanda ng Punla

    * Maghalo ng “soil medium” (Lupa) (topsoil 75% / IBOF 25%)

    * Itanim ang mga buto at diligan

Mga Praktikal na Pamamahala at Pagkontrol sa Mga Sakit ng Halaman

Isaayos ni Leopoldo A. Guilaran ng Pambansang Inisyatibo sa Binhi at Likas – Kayang Pagsasaka sa Pilipinas (PABINHI- Pilipinas) Inc.

Mga Kahalagahan nito sa Organikong Pagsasaka:

Ang mga Mikrobio (mikro-organismo) miliit na organismo, mahalang pagaaralan upang makatulong sa ating pag-iwas o pag kontrol sa sakit ng ating mga halaman

May dalawang uri ng Mikroboyo ayon sa epekto sa halaman, tao, hayop at lupa. Una ay ang nakakasira (pathogenic, parasitiko, virulent). Pangalawa ay ang nakakatulong / kapakipakinabang maaring uri ng bacterium, fungus, nematode actinomycetes at yeasts. May apat na uri ang mga nakakatulong na mikroboyo at ito ang mga sumusunod:

   1. Decomposers – tagabulok ng mga labi ng halaman at iba pang organikong bagay
   2. Nitrogen-Fixers – mga bacteria tulad ng rhizobium, azotobacter at berenckia.
   3. Antagonists (contrabida) – mga mikrobio na gumagawa ng sustansyang nakakalason sa kapwa mikrobio tulad ng pennicilium, streptomyces, thrichoderma at actinomycetes. Mahalaga ang mg antagonists dahil sila ang nakakapatay sa masamang mga mikrobia na hindi kaya ng mga pestisidio
   4. Protagonist (bida) – Mga halimbawa Photosynthetic bacteria, Yeasts, Actinomycetes, VA Mychorrhiza

Sa kabilang banda, mayroon ding mga mikrobyo na pumamatay sa mga insekto na kumukalat ng sakit. Ang tawag dito ay mga Parasites. Ang mga parasites din ay maaring makabuti o makasama depende sa ating pagkontrol nito sa bukirin. Halimbawa ay ang mga:

   1. Nosema locustee – protozoa na pumapatay ng 58 na uri ng tipaklong
   2. Bacillus popilliae – pumapatay sa white grubs
   3. Bacillus thuringiensis – lumalason sa liang uri ng cutworms at ibang insekto

Mayroon ding uri ng mirkrobyo na pumapatay ng ibang mapanirang organismo at ito ang mga sumusunod:

   1. Parasitoieds – kumakain ng itlog ng peste, langgam at adult whorl maggots
   2. Langgam at iba pa ay pumapatay ng mas malalaking insekto

Bakit May Sakit?

   1. Dahil sa epektibong mikrobio (virulent) tulad ng fungi na epektibo sa malalamig na klima
   2. May tagatanggap (susceptible host) maaring tao, hayp or halaman. Kahit virulent ang mikrobio basta hindi mahina ang resistensya nito, hindi ito tatalab
   3. Paborable na kondisyon – kung paborable ang kundisyo at virulent at mahina ang host, hindi ito kakapit

Paano Maiwasan ang sakit?

   1. Magtanim ng natural na resistensyadoing halaman
   2. Magsubok muna o mamili bago magtanim ng bagong halaman
   3. Magtanim sa tamang panahon
   4. Hawaan, tanggalin ang mga halamang may sakit
   5. I-mentina ang “diversity” ng sakahan
      • Mag crop rotation
      • Multiple (maramihang) cropping (intercropping, relay cropping, mixed cropping at multi-storey cropping)
      • Mag alaga ng ibat-ibang klase ng hayop
   6. Maglagay ng tirahan ng mga kaibigang kulisap (beneficial insects)
      • Mag-iwan ng madamo omasukal na lugar sa paligid
      • Maglaan sanctuary n may tumutubong damo, bulaklak at puno
   7. Pagandahin at panatilihin ang katabaan ng lupa
      • Sakitin ang halaman kung sakitin din ang lupa
      • Dagdagan ng organikong pataba
      • Kung balance na ang katabaan ng lupa ito na ang buhay na lupa
   8. Gumamit ng mga mikrobiong gumagawa ng antibiotic
   9. Ang lactic acid bacteria at yest ay nagpapabango ng lupa
  10. Kung marmi ang photo-synthetic bacteria at nitrogen-fixing bacteria, di na kailangan maglagay ng kemikal na abono.

Mga pamamaraan sa pagkontrol sa sakit ng halaman:

   1. Biological Control (pagpadami ng nakatutulong na insekto at mikrobio)
   2. Cultural Control (pangangasiwa sa sakahan) tulad ng pag sterilize ng lupa, crop rotation
   3. Physical Control (pagsunog sa may sakit na halaman, dahon o paglagay ng insect traps)

Sumada:

   1. May sakit lamang kung nandoon ang tatlong bagay: microbio, tagatanggap, tamang kundisyon
   2. ang sakit ay intoma ng hindi balanseng ekolohiya ng sakahan
   3. ang sakiting lupa ay nagreresulta ng sakiting halaman
   4. Dahil sa hindi wastong disenyo at hindi wastong pamamaraan ng pagsasaka
   5. Huwag suwayin ang kalikasan

PNFI will have a two days training on Natural Farming Systems Technology at the Agribusiness Center of the Department of Agriculture, the office of which is located along the Elliptical Road, Diliman, Quezon City on August 19-20, 2011 (Friday and Saturday) from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Cost for the two days training is P2,500.00 which includes training materials and food (snack and lunch organically prepared by Chef Tatung). Training will focus on natural fertilizers and pesticides and its application to crops, plants and animals (baboy, manok, itik and kambing). For plants and crops technology, it will focus on land preparation, seed selection and treatment, proper planting and application of natural fertilizers and pesticides. It will also include preparation and use of compost and vermi.

For livestock and poultry: appropriate housing, nutrition, bedding for pigs and chicken, natural feeds and medication.

The training will be conducted by Ms. Teresa Saniano of Earthkeepers and Mr. Dante Delima, both authors of the LIKASAKA Manual.
