Hi all I was wondering do any of you hog farmers have a stall at the publice market? If so do you make a good profit at it?That would max your profits but is it to much trouble?

I have one in Orani Town Market.   I'm letting somebody else use it.  It's a tedious job for us.  Considering the small demand in our town, I'd rather sell to biyaheros or middle man.  If I were in the city with a place in the market, that would be a different story.

The old saying: a man who never took a chance, had a chance.Research is  important before any decision should be finalized, another saying, buyer beware,if it is too good to be true, probably right.AS producers we have to make important decisions concerning the future of our investments, having an edge helps in the short term.Farming worldwide wide is under pressure.Farms are becoming larger, a business more than just a farm.Producers must be able to change with market conditions,or be left out in the cold.

Having a stall is really a tedious process.  If you have regular biyahero's and your area is not that progressive yo are better off just selling your hogs to biyahero

The great thing is are town is growing fast.We cant even find a stall in the public market.Even for that matter, there is a line up to buy one so you can imagine. The town is only one hour from davao city.I only want the stall to make money for the feeds so I can expand my bizness I have many sow cages to fill but first I have to afford the feeds right?

I don't think so.  You need someone to talk to the administrator of the market to inquire about possible stalls for sales or vacant areas.

it's true.imagine this if i buy 95 to 98 pesos carcass with head (slaughter only) then sell it (choice cuts) at 140 to 160 pesos.
