Quick tape
9002

Using a standard cloth measuring tape, measure around the "heart girth" behind the front legs. Pull the tape just snug. Do NOT use these weights as the basis for goat sales. Although not perfectly accurate, it is great for keeping track of general weight trends for your goats. For example, if one of them is losing weight it should alert you to look for health problems. It is accurate enough to use as a general guide for determining medicine dosages.

WEIGHT MEASURE Inches Pounds Inches Pounds
21 34 30 86
22 38 31 92
23 45 32 100
24 50 33 109
25 57 34 117
26 62 35 127
27 68 36 137
28 74 37 147
29 80 38 158

21 inches is 34 lbs.   38 inches is 158 lbs.
1 kilo is approx. 2.2 lbs.
this is a easy way to have some idea about weight, without having scales.
