50-100 heads is a good start to familiarize yourself with this business. Although, as much as possible you should minimize your cost in building the cages. Holder for a 50-100 broiler is different for 500 up.
50-100, you could still use cages but 500 up you need big housing.

So most probably when you increase your production there is  no use for the cages.

Yup that's it. Poultry business is a fast pace business. Currenlty at 35 days you could already sell your produce. Every day is considered a critical day.

You have to be very aware/sensitive to their behavior, eating habits, and environment.

Doc gdpm,

can you guide me on my next step?

I just finished the shelter house for my native chicken. I am planning to start at 30 heads free range.

Now my question is what is the best process model that i can follow for native chicken as a starter?

whats boggling on my mind is this:

1. 30 heads x 8 eggs (average) = 240 chicks
2. now the 240 chicks goes to whole chicken life cycle which is 3 months before slaughter -correct me if im wrong here Smiley
3. example 240 is ready for slaughter - as a starter should i do the slaughter manually? (i mean hiring people to do the job?) or
what other options can i have here?
4. what is the next step i will take so the process goes on every month, year and so on.

thanks,

albert

If you will start at 30 heads atleast you need to have 3 males.

It will start to lay eggs around 18-24 weeks of age. So, you need a nest for them.

if you will use native chicken you could sell it at  around 3 months or earlier depending on the diet/feeds that you will give.

Normally, native chicken's liveweight is more expensive than broiler .

Slaughter it yourself.

Good day, sir.

Weather condition? at iba pa.

Sana po mapagbigyan ninyo ako. Eto po ang email add ko geo_037511@yahoo.com.
Sa Bay, Laguna po ang lugar ko.

Marami pong salamat.

Hi sir Nemo,

newbie here and been a small time poultry raiser before....nag-alaga na po ako dati ng 100heads sasso chickens and 50heads ready to lay pullets/layer
Thanks in advance.

If the weather is too cold the animal eats more to increase/maintain  its body temperature.
If the weather is too hot the animal will eatless .

So in areas like baguio feed consumption will increase due to the weather.

I sent you a file taken from the net about poultry raising.
