Kung sampu and inahin mo ang kailangan mo ay: 3 farrowing pen 7 gestating pen 5-7 fattening pen Farrowing pen 1.6 by 2.2 meter better buy one which is yari na then copy the design nalang. Gestating 0.6-0.75 meter by 2-2.2. there are some pictures Herefattening pen would be 1 square meter per animal. preferable build a pen for 12 pigs or 3x4 meter.

It could be.
But for starters in the business i would not suggest 4 x 5 pen.
By using a 4 x 5 pen means that you are mixing fast growers and the not so fast growers in one pen. Or you will mix weanlings which are born in proximity with one another. And this will be a problem for backyard raisers. Backyard raisers are not that yet good in terms of data recording. They don't put ear notching to id their animal. Farm performance will not be recorded properly if they mix their piglets.
By using a pen which is 3 x 4 monitoring would be easy for them. A 3 x 4 pen would accomodate 12 pigs which is one batch. So, they don't need an ear notch to id their animal. They could just say pen 1 is the offspring of boar duroc and sow 1 etc... And if after 5 months if that group didn't perform well then tracing back where the problems is much easier, whether it is genetics, feeds, environmental etc. because the variable is lessen. Add to that is monitoring diseases will be much easier for the field of vision of the observer will only be concentrated to 12 animals and an area of 12 square meters compared to 20 animals and an area of 20 square meters.
I personally believe that we have to adapt the technology first to the person before they can adopt with it.

You can put 10 sow level here assuming that the area is far from residential area.
a farrowing pen 1.6 x 2.2 you need around 3
then gestating pen 0.6 -0.75 x 2to minimize space and around 7 ang needed
you can use around 6 fattening pen with size of 3 x 4 . Harapan (3 by 3 pen) then may pasilyo sa gitna

Dr Nemo, Good day to you. Hope you dont mind me asking a number of questions..
I came across this site a week ago and decided to be a member... also tried reading some forum topics and believed to be educational and interesting read... congrats for having a strong site involving livestocks...
Now, I am planning to be a contract grower for Monterey... but before proceeding.. I need to learn at least some foundation about this business... Though I am interested in fattening... My plan is to have the minimum number of 660 as per Monterey requirement. My first sets of questions involves housing... Do I need to follow the ideal 3x4 or 4x5 layout when setting up the fattening pens? What can be a better way of constructing the pen with cost efficiency? Is 1 hectare of land really necessary for a 660 hogs? (I'm thinking that 2 sqm/head will only requires me < 1400 sqm of land plus waste management area (not sure about the size) and another house area for the labor group 3 guys plus warehouse of feeds. 5000 sqm might suffice or will it not?)... Speaking of which, waste management is also a concern, your suggestion on how costly the setup might be is highly appreciated. Another question is what can be the typical farm equipments required and how much might these equipments cost?
Thanks in advance.
Here's Monterey's requirement:
Contract Grower Provides:
*Agricultural land (1-5) hectares *Piggery houses and facilities Power and water system Labor and Security *Farm Equipment Maintenance of farm facilities, roads and equipment
Building plans, designs and specifications
Superior hybrid pigs Feeds and nutrition program Medicines and vaccines Technical support Information / Recording materials Ready market for all hogs Competitive payment scheme
